Initial Ideas

  Overview of music video idea (this could include potential song choices and initial ideas) Song Choice; Wires – The Neighbourhood Shot in Black and White with colour returning at the end Tv always in shot displaying either news footage or a character trying to persuade the protagonist to join them in the corrupt world Industrial buildings and sheds will represent the corruption of the world and the forests will represent freedom and escape. At the end the tv will either be sledgehammered or set alight to signify the protagonist breaking free from the corruption and colour will return to the video.   Raining on the industrial streets and woods. Brooding tone. Shots looking up at the trees blowing in the wind Occasional glitching in the video (screen flicker, screen tearing, etc.) *bit ambitious* someone strung up in a shed posed like a puppet symbolising a previous artist who has been corrupted and is now under the corporate control. The Conventions of Protest Music Videos - May involve direct or implied meanings and statement - May be ambiguous  - May call for a change in law or attitudes or seek to support a campaign - May seek to promote or provide an alternative viewpoint - Reflect the values, attitudes and beliefs of the artist - Often may not focus solely on on the artists  - Reflects the zeitgeist - Lyrics of the song may not be directly political/protest related but the video interprets as such
